Proposals
The CVB sales representative can prepare a formal presentation for your group that will include hotel and motel room rates, facilities, amenities and other pertinent information. Each bid will be customized to meet your group’s specific needs.
Presentation
The CVB sales representative is available to make a proposal presentation to your membership, board or committee.
Site Visit
The CVB would love to plan a customized tour of the city and provide complimentary accommodations to pre-qualified planners to allow you to gain a first-hand look at the facilities and amenities that Joplin has to offer.
Welcome Letter
A personalized letter welcoming your attendees on behalf of the City of Joplin can be written to place in your attendees packets.
Housing Bureau
Reservation service with requested rates from a variety of hotels. Includes reservation forms and confirmation service. This is only available for groups that will need to utilize multiple properties.
Registration Assistance
The CVB will be happy to provide you with personnel to assist with meeting registration.
Planning Assistance & Contact Liaison
The CVB staff will be available to assist your group throughout the planning process for your meeting. This service includes assistance with services such as pre or post-conference tours, arrangement for color guard, entertainment, photographers, caterers, florists and more.
Official City Welcome
If you would like, the CVB can arrange for a CVB or City representative to provide a welcome address during your event.
Attendee Name Tags
Customized name tags with badge holders and lanyards can be provided free of charge to each attendee. Spouse or partner badges can also be provided.
Marketing and Public Relations
The CVB staff would be happy to assist or provide you with any of the following services:
News Releases – The CVB staff can assist you with writing and distributing a news release to help promote your upcoming event to local and/or appropriate trade media.
Media Contacts – A media database of area and local media contacts is available for your use.
Online Event Calendar – Any events open to the public can be placed on the CVB website online calendar of events at no charge.
Video – A promotional video of Joplin and the surrounding area are available on DVD or Web link.
Advance Promotional Materials – At your request, the CVB will provide Official Joplin Fun Guides and Tear Maps to each of your attendees in advance of your event to promote attendance or help the make pre or post event plans.
Broadcast E-mail – Boost attendance to your event by having the CVB staff send a broadcast email to your prospective attendees. E-promotions can contain links to your organization’s home page, registration information, photos, discount coupons for early registration and links to the official Joplin Web site.
Photography – With prior approval the CVB can provide you with photos of Joplin area attractions for use in event publications or your organization’s Web site to promote Joplin as your host city.
Additional Services Offered
The following are additional services offered free of charge.
Complimentary Reception – With prior approval, the CVB can host a reception for your group at one of our area attractions during your scheduled stay.
Step-On Guide – Throughout your event, the CVB staff would be happy to act as your complimentary step-on tour guide or driver should you need assistance.
Spousal/Family Tours – If your attendees are accompanied by their spouses or families, the CVB can offer assistance in creating and leading recreational tours to area attractions to occupy their time during your event.
Goodie Bags – Your group may request Joplin goodie bags for all of your attendees. Goodie bags include visitor information and selected Joplin items. The bags are also large enough to hold additional items that may be specific to your event. Please note* goodie bag requests must be submitted to the CVB four (4) weeks prior to your event.
Information Booth – During registration or other high-traffic times, an information booth can be staffed to provide details about what there is to do and see in Joplin.
VIP Gifts – With prior approval, the CVB can provide a VIP gift bag for VIP and/or board members. Items vary in product and quantity.
